Local planning consideration
Know which rules apply.
Start with GEMA/HS and the current notice. Keep nonprofit applications distinct from government preparedness projects and confirm the submitting organization’s eligibility before developing the budget.
Prepare your project
Bring the right information to the conversation.
01 / Establish eligibility
Confirm your legal entity, facility address, ownership or lease rights, and the program’s applicant requirements.
02 / Connect risk to scope
Document the vulnerability, the proposed improvement, and an itemized budget. Separate equipment, labor, training, and recurring costs.
03 / Check before committing
Verify deadlines, match requirements, procurement rules, reimbursement timing, and any environmental or historic review before purchasing or starting work.
Potential improvements may include access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, emergency communications, or entrance screening where the selected program permits them. Recurring service and subscriptions need separate eligibility checks.
